Shell Ballet Themed Wedding
If you were one of those girls growing up with images of Margot Fonteyn, Rudolph Nuryev and more recently Darcey Bussell, then you may have had dreams of becoming a World famous ballerina or if not, just had a love for the ballet and the beauty and mystique of the characters and costumes that you see there.
Why not try and re-create the glamour of the theatre with this beautiful shell colour and have a ballet themed wedding?
Shell pink epitomizes the glamour of the ballerina from the flesh coloured leotards to the satin block ballet shoes with ribbons up their legs and is a flattering and pretty colour that will make for the most beautiful of all the wedding themes.
Bridesmaids and flower girls can emulate this by wearing shell tulle skirts that will look like tutus with sumptuous satin tops and matching ballet pumps with ribbons attached and of course tights. Pageboys can look dashing in taffeta shorts with cuffs and matching cummerbunds with peter pan collared shirts.
Nude and ivory roses form the bouquet and decorate the tables as if they had been strewn onto the stage after a performance of Swan Lake or Giselle. Jam jars with lace around them with satin ribbon bows can hold little tea lights. Opulence is key with mirrored centre pieces, like in a ballet studio, reflecting flickering light and the glistening of the cutlery and glass around them.
This theme is ultra-feminine, naïve and pure so you can wear a slipper satin bias cut dress or going for something more structured with satin lacing down the back and a full tulle skirt.
To top off your look be sure to have a veil with a full reveal and as a proper prima ballerina wear a tiara or crown. You could even go one step further and make your first dance Tchaikovsky’s Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy!
